Whether you have a sports injury or occupational dysfunction. We can help!
What is sports massage?
Sports massage has been around for many years helping people who suffer from poor posture, muscular injuries, soft tissue injuries, dysfunctions, poor range of motion, health conditions and many more. The hands-on therapy techniques help to relax and lengthen muscle fibres, break down scar tissue, remove soft tissue adhesion, improve recovery and much more.
What should I expect when booking a sports massage with MSE sports and remedial massage?
We pride ourselves on quality service and want your experience to be the best. On your first visit, you will be greeted by the sports massage therapist. You will go through a thorough consultation form, a full postural and mobility assessment to identify any limitations in movement, stiffness, weakness or muscular dysfunctions. These results will allow the sports massage therapist to tailor the treatment to your individual needs. Its the only way to get the best results! The sports massage therapist will use a range of techniques that will include deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, trigger pointing and MET stretches in order to get the best results. When the session has finished you will be given aftercare advice and a stretch programme to help assist with the treatment.
Who will a sports massage benefit?
A sports massage can benefit everyone from the average gym-goer right to the elite athlete. Although, you don't need to be sporty at all to benefit from a sports massage. A sports massage can benefit people who suffer from postural dysfunctions, limited movement, mental conditions (both physical and mental), back and neck pain and much more.
Benefits of a sports massage:
• Identify and treat injuries and dysfunctions.
• Reduce and prevent injuries.
• Improve posture.
• Improve mobility and flexibility.
• Reduce muscular pain and inflammation.
• Corrects muscular dysfunctions and imbalances.
• Increases blood circulation and promotes recovery.
Can sports massage help with chronic medical conditions?
Sports massage can help with some chronic medical conditions like Fibromyalgia, sleep disorders, high blood pressure and many more. A doctor's note is required for all medical conditions for the safety of the client.
How often should I get a sports massage?
We recommend having 1 sports massage every 3 - 6 weeks to help prevent muscle tightening which will help improve your performance whilst reducing your risk of injury and muscular fatigue. We do, however, work with clients on a weekly and fortnightly basis which is beneficial to their sport.
Foot and Ankle Sports Massage Treatment Treatment.
Just like your neck, back and shoulders, your feet can also benefit from a regular rubdown. A foot massage improves circulation, stimulates muscles, reduces tension and often eases pain. It also gives you a chance to check out your feet so you can get a jump on treating blisters, bunions, corns and toenail problems.
